SHREVEPORT, LA - A Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Kristi Gwen O'Pry, 26, was held at 4pm on Sunday, July 10th, 2016 at Shreveport Community Church, 5720 Buncombe Road. Dr. Fred Lowery officiated.

Kristi was born on May 8th, 1970 to Patrick Michael O'Pry and Janet Anderson O'Pry in Minden, Louisiana. Kristi attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and Cut Off Elementary School in Lafourche Parish. She also attended Westwood, Summerfield and Hillsdale Elementary, Walnut Hill Junior High and Huntington High School in Shreveport. After a six year relationship with Todd Dean, Kristi gave birth to their only child, Jordan Alexa on August 16th, 1992. Jordan was the Light of Kristi's Life.

Kristi is remembered for her beauty, compassion for humanity and larger than life personality. A gentle soul that never met a stranger, Kristi was a free spirit who loved nature and had a special place in her heart for dogs, rainbows and sunflowers. She had a profound love for music, attending concerts and being silly with her sisters. She laughed, loved and enjoyed life.

Kristi was preceded in death by her brother Leo Wilson O'Pry, uncle Jon Anderson, grandparents Wilson & Jewel Anderson and Leo & Louise O'Pry. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Jordan Alexa Dean O'Pry, father Patrick O'Pry and wife Jewell, her mother Janet Anderson Dodson and husband Bobby Dodson; three sisters, Paige O'Pry and husband Chet Dowden, Meg O'Pry, Amy O'Pry and husband Burke Massey; nieces Ashley Dowden, Hayden Kristi Bean and Aubree Dowden; nephews Derek, Shelby and Devin Dowden, Burke and Jack Massey and her boyfriend Todd Dean.

We would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Fred Lowery, Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, Caddo Detectives Roy Tabor and Kay Ward, Private Investigator Bill Meeks, Lea Hall, Hugo Holland and Bill Edwards, Caddo DA's Office and Shreveport Police Sgt Michael McConnell.
