Beloved Wife, Sister, Aunt, and Friend

With heavy hearts, we announce that Kristin Lee Albrecht, age 61, of Round Lake, Illinois, was called to her heavenly home on July 7, 2025, after a courageous and inspiring 26-year battle with breast cancer.

Born October 1, 1963, in Glendora, California, Kristin spent her childhood in Minnetonka, Minnesota. She was the cherished wife of Richard for 38 wonderful years, and sister to Carl (Dianne) and Margot Wickman (Ed) Bennett. Kristin's delighted in her nieces Lauren, Morgan, and Erin, and her nephew Erik. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary Wickman.

Kristin excelled academically, earning a Master's Degree in Computer Science-a pursuit that became the cornerstone of her career at NCH. She is remembered as a dedicated and innovative professional who brought integrity and team spirit to every project she touched.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kristin was a woman of many passions. She delighted in traveling, finding particular joy in her countless trips to her beloved Hawaii, where the beauty and peace of the islands touched her gentle soul. At home, she was a skilled and creative quilter, transforming simple fabrics into vibrant works of art.

Above all, Kristin's heart was open and generous, especially to her "fur babies": Muffin, Leon, Riley, Annabelle, Lucy-June, Pepsi, Girlie, Sasha, Brandy, and Nali. Her love for her pets was boundless, and they brought her endless happiness and companionship throughout her life.

A private family service will be held to honor Kristin's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a breast cancer research foundation or animal rescue organization of your choice.

Kristin's journey here has ended, but her light will forever shine in the hearts of those she loved. Rest in peace, beloved Kristin.
