Kristopher Fagan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 30, 2024.
Kristopher Reid "Kris" Fagan, 44, of Yucca Valley, California, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Kris was born on February 21, 1980, in Tallahassee, Florida, and spent much of his early life along the Northwest Florida coast. It was there that he developed a lifelong love for the water and fishing, passions that would remain with him throughout his life.

A 1998 graduate of Tate High School in Pensacola, Florida, Kris pursued further education at Pensacola State College, where he studied agriculture and turf grass science. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his first landscaping company. Over the years, Kris became a man of many talents-an accomplished diver, mechanic, welder, electrician, and merchant vessel pilot.

In 2012, Kris moved to Los Angeles to be with Deborah Kantner, who would soon become his wife. The couple built a life together in Highland Park, a charming neighborhood on the outskirts of Pasadena. They shared a deep love for the outdoors and spent much of their time camping and exploring Southern California with their two beloved dogs, Kiya and Scarlet. Kris and Deborah were married in 2016 and often described their bond as that of soulmates-a union built on love, respect, and shared values.

Kris had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His warm smile and open heart left an indelible impression on everyone he met. He was known for his integrity and unwavering commitment to fairness and loyalty in both his personal and professional relationships.

Professionally, Kris excelled in team building and leadership. He earned a reputation for integrity and dedication while managing events at the iconic Sheets-Goldstein House alongside his partner. He was proud to be a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 40 and the Teamsters Union. Kris also took great pride in mentoring others and helping them find opportunities within these organizations.

Family was central to Kris's life. He cherished time spent with his parents, David and Kristie; his sister, Anjuli Ferguson (Joe); nephew Reid; niece Hazel; as well as his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Holidays were especially meaningful to him as moments to create lasting memories with loved ones. Though he did not have children of his own, Kris found immense joy in the role of uncle to Reid and Hazel.

In 2016, Kris was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic neuroendocrine carcinoma. Despite this life-altering diagnosis, he faced the challenges ahead with remarkable courage and determination. For over eight years, he lived life on his own terms while fighting valiantly against the disease. Throughout this journey, he remained steadfast in his desire to help others living with NET cancer by contributing to research efforts aimed at finding a cure.

Kris's legacy is one of kindness, patience, generosity, and love-for people and animals alike. His impact on those who knew him is immeasurable; he leaves behind a large footprint on this Earth that will not soon be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kris's memory to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation or the Los Angeles Carcinoid Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (LACNETS), organizations dedicated to advancing research for NET cancer.

Kris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspire others to live with the same compassion and integrity that defined his life.

Kris,
When I first met you, I remember that we both sat down and spoke for hours as if we had already known each other for decades.
I immediately recognized your intelligence and our similar honest values and beliefs. I was so impressed by your broad knowledge about all aspects of life such as science, technology, horticulture, politics, business and especially spirituality. I was very
intrigued by your open-minded curiosity that appreciated and respected every experience in the moment, rather if it could be explained or not. I remember you showing me real compelling videos of UAPs that you had seen several times recently. I believe that they were Angels welcoming you back home.

You seemed to care for and understand others with a natural altruistic innate ability. You were always looking for ways that you could help and contribute.
You were generous and kind. You were obviously a great husband, and I could see the strong love and connection between you and Deborah.

After my daughter and I went Kayaking with you. She told me that you had the most interesting stories to share. It was no wonder that you played an important role in the production and entertainment industry.

I could see that you always left a lasting positive loving impression on everyone that you met. Those of us who knew you for only 10 minutes and those of us who knew you a lifetime. Thank you, God, for the time that you shared your soul with us (even though it was to short of a duration), You made this world a better place and you will never be forgotten.

We ALL love you Kris. I know God has big important new plans for you to continue to share your talents with those who need them most on the other side...

Sincerely,
Lisa and Mark Shirk

Dear Kris,
Every day I wake up thinking of you. I replay my memories of your rich, joyful life in my mind and your twinkle and shine comfort me. I love the way you gave your fullest self to every challenge and adventure you took on. I remember your desire to connect and engage from your youngest years - how happy you always were to share stories and your insatiable curiosity of all things. Your ability to be in the moment with those you were with was such a gift. As I watched you grow up it became so apparent how multi faceted your talents were. Your curiosity served you well and I was amazed to see the life you built on both coasts as you filled your days with learning about the natural world and found love. The hotsauces! I think when you and Deb started combining your shared creativity and abilities to DREAM BIG I knew that you two had found a perfect pairing in each other. The two of you together made the world more beautiful. My heart aches writing this but I am also heartened remembering the bounty of your all too short time on earth. You filled your cup to the brim as you filled others as well. Thank you Kris for being such a bright light in our family. You will always, always be missed but your legacy of love and connection lives on.
See you again,
Your Aunt Janet

My love of life
There are no words that can truly capture the depth of love and gratitude I have for you. You were not just my husband, but my best friend,
My confidant and my guiding light. From the moment we met, I knew there was something special about you-your kind heart, your gentle strength, and your unwavering love that touched everyone around you.

You faced life with courage and grace, even when it wasn´t easy. Your journey, especially these past years, was not without its struggles, but through it all, you never let go of hope, laughter, or the love that defined you. You taught me so much-about resilience, about kindness, and about living each day with purpose and gratitude.

Your love was steady and true, and your presence made even the simplest moments feel extraordinary. Whether it was your warm smile, twinkle in your eyes, the way you always knew how to make smile , or the quiet way you supported me when I needed it most-every part of you was a gift I will cherish forever.

You gave so much of yourself to those around you, and your legacy of love, kindness, bravery and strength will continue to live on in all of us.

Thank you, my love, for everything-for every laugh, every tear, and every beautiful moment we shared. I will never forget you, one day will
see you in the Milky Way, stars shining bright above. There are days I feel like I can't go on without you, you are forever in my heart and soul. I love you so very much. I know you are at peace now, run wild and free. Hope you are having the greatest adventures. I'll see you on the other side my love. I am
Forever grateful for the special moments and the time we spent together, and all out crazy fun adventures and your sweet smile. I miss you everyday day. I will always love you Kristopher Fagan.
Forever and always
Debbie

You were my everything. We had such a beautiful life together. It ended too soon. You were so brave, strong, kind and compassionate. I fell in love with that electric smile and the twinkle in your eyes.
You always made our lives so full of love and happiness. I miss you so much, my heart still breaks at the thought your sweet smile.
We will be together again, dancing in the milky way, leaving trails of stardust flickering behind us, as we hold each other, and laugh until we cry.
You were my soulmate, I feel
Lost without you.
It took me awhile to write this, because it was just too hard to express my emotions.
I was in awe at all the things you could do, always curious to know more and explore the unknown.
We had some many adventures,I'll never forget, all the good times we shared. You were my best friend, my confidant, my protector,my love of life.
I dont know what I will do without you, but I do know I'll never stop loving you. I'll never stop missing you.

You brought so much kindness warmth and love to everyone you met.
You were an amazing human, who helped so many, always putting yourself before others.
You were a bright shining star, I can see you when I look up,in the darkness of night. That one shining bright star, lighting the way, for all to see, for all to remember.

I Love you so very much, my heart aches every day, without your presence. I know you are in good hands now. You are free.
I'll see you on the other side my love.

Dear Khris,
We are going to miss you so much! Your smile, laughter and that twinkle in your eyes as you shared news of your latest adventures.
When you left Pensacola to start your journey out West, it was with a vision, hope and confidence that all would come true. Though a kind spirit, winning personality and hard work, you built that life! Making dear friends along the way and to top it off, found the love of your life , Debbie. Now that is a dream fulfilled!
We are going to miss you Khris, but... we will see you again, on down the road.
Love you nephew. Uncle Paul and Aunt Mary Jean

Rest in Peace Brother Fagan 😢 It was a pleasure to have had our lives touch, to work beside you, and to have come to know you as a little Brother and friend. I will dearly miss those out of the blue phone calls to ask me "What would you do Brother?" and the amazing conversations that would ensue. And thank you for not judging me for my faults either. You were way too young to have gone through so very much, with not so much of a complaint about the cards you were dealt 💔

Kris was the first of the cousins to really make me feel welcome in the Fagan Family. He was such an important part of Matthew´s life story. He worked so hard on our wedding day to make everything perfect for us, and memories of that day will always include him and his sweet spirit.
