Another one of our Chemawa Alums passing on. My condolences to JoAnn and the rest of his family. He was a very nice guy. I am sure that he is in a better place. Prayers to you all.

My heart is heavy, I will truly miss one of the best men I have met in my life. Alvin took me under his wing early on and taught me so many things he learned the hard way. Alvin was a master of making something work with as little as one tool and a bent nail. Alvin and Auntie Mary raised two fine sons, smoked the best fish I have ever had, and always had their door open for true visits. My heart goes out to his family in this tough time. Every time anyone skiffs by the weir, look up at the towering boom crane Alvin built, it will stand for generations and it will always bring back fond memories for me and those who knew Alvin.
Rest in peace “Boss.”
