Kusma Boskofsky

Chignik Lake resident, Kusma "Alvin" Boskofsky, 66, passed away November 26, 2014 at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. He was born September 3, 1948. Alvin was a commercial fisherman, a mechanic for the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, a welder, and an EMT. He also served as President of Chignik Lake Village Council; member of the Bristol Bay Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Council; member of Aniakchak Subsistence Resource Commission; and prior Vice President of Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation. A public visitation will be held Monday, December 1, 2014 at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street, 3-4 p.m. Alvin will be laid to rest in Chignik Lake, AK, at St. Nicholas Cemetery. He attended Chemawa Indian School and Bates Technical College. His hobbies included working in his shop, building furniture, and subsistence hunting and fishing. Alvin is survived by his wife Mary Boskofsky; sons Clinton Boskofsky (Shalene) and Peter Boskofsky (Lauren); grandchildren Courtney, Allison, and Aria Boskofsky; sisters Vera Marvin (Richard) and Joann Orloff; brothers Dimitri Boskofsky (Phyllis), Harry Naumoff, and Edward Naumoff (Diane); brothers-in-law Peter Lind (Darlene) and George Orloff; sisters-in-law Annie Takak, Sophie Abyo, Evelyn Kosbruk, and Lena Anderson; godson Marty Takak; and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Naumoff; father Dimitri Boskofsky; step-father George Naumoff; brothers William Yurioff and Mac Boskofsky; sisters Betty Lukin and Isla Naumoff; and niece Gladys Ann Naumoff.
