A horse drawn carriage
carried the coffin of Mr Luke
Samuel Lee (24), from his
home at Fell Wilson Grove,
Warsop, and was followed
by family and hundreds of
friends who walked to Warsop
Parish Church which
was full to capacity for the
service which preceded cremation
at Sherwood Forest
crematorium, Boughton.
The coffin, which bore pictures
of Wembley stadium
on the sides and lid, was carried
by five of Mr Lee's cousins
and one of his friends
- Mr D. Lee, Mr S. Lee, Mr S. Charles, Mrs K. Lee, Mr
D. Gibbons and Mr L. Rodgers - and his seven-yearold
brother, Bailey, walked in front of the coffin into
church holding a large flag with a picture of himself,
Luke and the Stags emblem on.
Born at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton, and educated at
Warsop's Hetts Lane Infant, Sherwood Junior and Meden
Comprehensive schools, Mr Lee lived locally all his life.
Employed as a second chef at various places, his most recent
employment was at The Old Pump at Barlow, near
Chesterfield.
A Stags (Mansfield Town Football Club) supporter, Mr
Lee also enjoyed Rugby, spending time with his brother,
Bailey and socialising with his many friends and family
and he especially loved a good party.
Mr Lee, who died at The Old Pump, Barlow, Chesterfield,
leaves his mother, Mrs S. C. Palmer, of the same
address and his father, Mr P. Lee, of Little John Avenue
Warsop.
