TEXAS — LaFrona Z. Clark Collen, 94, died on September 6, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX.There will be a graveside service at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery on Sept. 11 at 2:00 p.m. LaFrona was born on December 23, 1913, the daughter of Lester D. and Rosa M. Boettger Curttright. She married William H. Clark in 1933 and had two children from that marriage. She later married Leo J. Collen in 1950 who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her parents; one son, Albert Billy Clark; and one sister, Vernita Brugman DuQuinn.LaFrona is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Vicki (Clark) Wick and husband, Steve, Terrell, TX; and her grandchildren, Cody Jay Bainbridge and wife, Rachel, McKinney, TX, and Mrs. Heather Lea Kitsoulis, and husband Bill, Dallas, TX.She graduated from Clinton High School in 1931. She was employed at Clinton and Distilling Co. Products as a bookkeeper and later became office manager. When the plant closed, she formed her own business, known as LaFrona’s Bookkeeping and Tax Service, which she operated for over 40 years. She was a member of the Evangelical Church, now known as Trinity United Methodist, all her life. She had at one time belonged to many clubs and organizations, among which were Women of Moose, AMVETS, Odeon, Izaak Walton League and Eagles Auxiliary. She had been living in Texas the past 14 years. LaFrona had many dear friends during her life in Iowa and Texas and will be greatly missed by them and her family.Death date: Sept. 6, 2008
