Laith Al-Jamie II Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 20, 2022.
Laith Stephen Al-Jamie II, 35, of Lake Forest, California, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 13, 2022. The service will be held on July 2,2022 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at Fairhaven Memorial Park.

Laith was born on September 19, 1986 to Laith Stephen Al-Jamie Sr. and Brandi Suzzanne Al-Jamie. He grew up in Tustin and moved to Mission Viejo at 8 years old.

Laith loved sports ever since he could hold a ball. It all started with him and his father playing catch with a Velcro baseball glove. We thought he was destined to be a great baseball player following in the the footsteps of his grandfather and father. Laith's grandfather was recruited by the Angels as a starting pitcher and his dad was a talented outfielder with impressive speed. Little did we know, baseball was not his destiny. He was a basketball player all the way. He was dribbling a basketball at 2 years old and as soon as he could run, he was hitting layups on his Little Tikes Basketball Hoop.

As he got older, Laith would walk to school with a basketball, sleep with a basketball, and watch AND1 videos on a loop until he mastered all the moves. Despite his family expecting baseball to be his legacy, Laith insisted on joining the local Basketball Rec League. He scored 33 points in his first game. It was done, basketball was in his soul. Nothing made him happier than stepping on the court. It didn't matter how big you were or how intimidating you might be, he never backed down. Laith made Varsity as a Freshman and started all 4 years for Trabuco Hills High School. His time in high school was epic, he challenged many of the school records. So many people have shared how they loved to watch him play and wouldn't miss a game. They still talk about his handles today. He loved to put on a show for everybody, he was a star.

Laith would play club basketball across Southern California earning the nickname "White Chocolate" due to his impressive moves. He wasn't the fastest on the court, but he could sure surprise you with a no-look pass that even his teammates didn't see coming. His court sense was uncanny. Laith wasn't only loved for his basketball skills, but for his big heart and witty personality. You couldn't stay mad at him for long. He would just give you that smile and make a joke and all was forgiven. Everyone loved him!

Laith was a devoted and loving father of 3 beautiful girls, Madison 12, Makenna 3, and Macie 7 mos. Laith shared his passion for sports with his oldest, Mady. He coached Mady's softball team and loved every moment. It was his new passion to see his daughter play a sport.

Laith is survived by Bonnie Hyter (fiance and mother of his children), Madison Marie, Makenna Kathleen, and Macie Renee (daughters), Laith Stephen Al-Jamie Sr. (father), Brandi Suzzanne Rabuse Al-Jamie (mother), Sarah Christine Al-Jamie Davis (sister), Kate Renee Al-Jamie (little sister), Landon Arthur Locke Davis (nephew), and Charlotte Lorraine Davis (niece).

We were truly blessed to have had him in the world and now that he is gone, we will hold on to the precious memories he has given us. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved grandmother, Nonie, whom he loved dearly.

All of my prayers are going out to Bonnie, the girls and all of Laith's family and loved ones.
There are many memories I have of Laith and every one involves him either being a loving father, helping husband or making someone laugh. He was never one to judge and one of the first to always lend a hand. Such a kind and stoic soul has left this world too soon, but our special memories help us remember him continually.
Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

I first met Madison. Who showed up on my doorstep asking if she could play with Harley. As Harley was getting ready to go out and play I invited Madison in to wait. Her response was " I´m not allowed to go into strangers homes " I knew then I wanted to meet the parents of this incredibly smart, well behaved little girl.

A few days later I met Bonnie. Who came looking for Maddison on a glow scooter lol I knew we´d be besties.

A couple weeks later I met Laith at a bbq he and Bonnie were having at their house.

My first impression of Laith was this white boy has swag lol. And it was refreshing because he reminded me of friends I grew up with in L.A
Any time I saw Laith weather at his home or picking Mady up from school I´d shout out " What Up LAITH " and his response " WHAT UP " with a slight chuckle.

Any time we were all together Bonnie myself, the girls... Laith was either dancing with Mady ( which was always cool cause the boy had moves ) or Harley´s fave making the girls quesadillas at the pool or making Bonnie laugh. Our time spent together was always fun

It might sound a little corny but Laith was my homie and he is deeply missed.

Laith and I hit it off immediately in his first interview. He was a great employee and quickly became a friend. Due to our mutual love for basketball, I asked him to coach my son's JV Spring/Summer club team which he accepted without hesitation. He will be missed by all of the team at AFN and by all of the players on the 16u Trojan basketball team. We are playing this weekend in his honor!! Rest in Peace Laith...

Remembering Laith was always there for the kids, a Dad, a Coach, a Chauffeur dropping kids off picking them up from sleepovers. It's the little things in life the everyday things, that make all the difference. RIP Laith and I'm sure you'll be watching over your beautiful family.
