Lakyn Campbell-Walden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2011.
Lakyn Kayla Campbell-Walden, 18, a resident of Russellville, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011. She was born May 22, 1992, at Russellville to Kenneth Boyd Campbell and Kimberly Dawn Davis Walden. She graduated early from Pottsville High School in 2009 and was currently attending Arkansas Tech University. She loved swimming, animals and pleasing everyone around her. She was a very outgoing, strong willed girl, who lived life to the fullest and was a member of The Sanctuary Church in Russellville. On May 8, 2009, then 16-year-old, Lakyn was shot in the left knee. In the blink of an eye, her life changed forever. But she didn’t allow it to affect her personality or passion for life. She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Raymond and Bobbie Sue Davis; an uncle, Raymond Davis III; and her step-grandfather, John Walden. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Kenny and Dena Campbell of Huntington Beach, California; her mother and step-father, Kim and Michael Walden of Russellville; a brother, Justin Dunnam of Russellville; a sister, Victoria Logan Campbell of Russellville; two step-brothers, Luke Huffman of Huntington Beach and Logan Huffman of Russellville; a step-sister, Larissa B. Huffman of Huntington Beach; her paternal grandparents, Joan and Lester Craig of London and Bob and Carmen Campbell of Huntington Beach; her maternal grandparents, Doug and Judy Davis of Russellville and Sandy and Andrew Davis of Little Rock; her step-grandparents, David and Mary Brummett of Clinton; her dog, Coda; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins; and other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Russellville with the Rev. Todd Steffy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Dunnam, Tisha Smith, Cody Capps, Dayle Campbell and Logan Campbell. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Sanctuary Church, Post Office Box 284, Russellville, Arkansas 72811.
