Elwood Hilton Obituary

Elwood F. Hilton, 87, of Downingtown, PA, formerly of West Chester, PA, passed on Friday, April 8, 2016. Born November 29, 1928 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Sarah and Medford Hilton.

Elwood attended school in the Unionville –Chadds Ford School District. He was the owner/operator of an Exxon Service Station located on route 202 (north bound) outside of West Chester, PA.

Elwood served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. During his stint in the Army, he was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Star and United Nations Service Medal.

His hobbies included fishing and gardening.

Surviving to cherish loving memories are his children, Robert L. Hilton of Pomona, CA, Elwood F. Hilton Jr. of Downingtown, PA, Elmira A. Butler and Diana L. Dow, both of West Chester, PA, and Michael E. Hilton of Bellflower, CA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother and sisters, William R. Hilton of Chester, PA, Roslyn B. Mayo and Bernice H. Barnes, both of West Chester, PA, Warren Hilton of Columbus, GA and Gertrude H. Grimes of Philadelphia, PA and a host of relatives and friends.
