Lance Heywood Arnette Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 25 to Sep. 26, 2007.
Lance Heywood Arnette, 74, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., went to be with his Lord Sept. 17, 2007. Lance was born on Dec. 5, 1932, in Crestview, Fla., he was a graduate of Crestview High School and attended the University of Kentucky. Lance served two years in the U.S. Army.
Lance's love for his family was foremost in his life. He was a lover of life!
He was very active in his church, a very successful business man as owner and president of Giff 's Sub Shoppe Franchise Systems Inc., since its beginning in 1977.
He was a local legend in the country music realm, learning to play guitar in his early teens, to never put it down. He went on to write numerous songs, many about his wife.
Lance visited Nashville, Tenn., several times to record his records in Little Jimmy Dickens Studio. He also loved the outdoors and was an avid bass fisherman.
There was not much he could not achieve. Lance was a natural people person, friend, councilor to many, a God-fearing, loving man. Lance will be missed.
Lance was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jackson Arnette; mother, Gertrude Bernice Day Arnette; wife of 53 years, Lenora Earline Adams Arnette; brothers, Randall and Jack Arnette; and grandson, Dustin Heywood Arnette.
