Landon Wellford Garland

| Send Sympathy Card GARLAND, Landon Wellford, age 88, retired insurance executive and author, died on October 20, 2015. Mr. Garland was born in Richmond and lived here until 1955 when he moved to Norfolk, where he was agency manager of North America Assurance Company. He returned to Richmond in 1969 and was president of Alsop & Elliott of Virginia, Inc. from 1972 to 1981. He opened his own insurance agency in 1981. Mr. Garland attended St. Christopher's School, Woodberry Forest and the University of Virginia, where he was a member of St. Anthony Hall. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of The Country Club of Virginia and a lifelong member of St. James's Episcopal Church. Mr. Garland was the son of Gregory Gray Garland and Camilla Wellford Garland.
