This past week, some of "the kids" and I who worked at Lane and Lynn's Dairy Queen spent time remembering what a wonderful man Lane was. We are all so thankful for our summers working for such a wonderful and dear family. I am so glad to know that someone who loved the Combs family made this a permanent fixture. The world was a much better place for having had a man like Lane in it.

He was my father, best friend, mentor, and teacher. My life is so different without him here. My mother is carrying on and doing the best she can, and she will always be there for my brother and I. Dad I miss you and love you so much. You brought so much into this world with your laughter, kindness, generosity, and most of family values. I love you and miss more than life itself. Sometimes I am so lost without you, but I find turning to God and talking to you really brings me back to my center. Thank you Sheri for doing this and making this here permanent.

I heard about Lane's death through my boyfriend who has been visiting his family in Michigan for the past couple of weeks. I'd like to say he's been heartbroken over the death of his cousin. My deepest sympathies to the family. I wish I had been able to have the pleasure of meeting Lane.

In this morning's paper I read the sad news of Lane's passing. I wish to offer my sympathy and prayers to you and your family. I grew up with his family on 9 Mile Rd. and graduated in 1961. Both me and my sister Carol live on Churches Rd. Carol brought our parents house and I built a house North of her. I am sure that his brothers and sisters might remember me and my family. May you and your family be given strength to bear your pain and sorrow during this sad time.

Scott,

It's been along time since I've seen

you and your family. When we were in

high school and I would come over. I

always thought it was so cool how your Dad & Mom had all the photo's of them with different cellebrity's.

I'm sorry we've lost touch over the years. I still think of you every Jan 1st.

So sorry to hear of your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family during this time.

Sincerely, Tricia

DEAR LYNN, SCOTT AND ED. I WILL BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND CANNOT ATTEND LANES' FUNERAL BUT I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW HOW VERY MUCH HE WILL BE MISSED. HE WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL MAN. SO VERY LOVING AND KIND. I WILL MISS HIS SMILE AND HIS KIND WORDS WHENEVER WE SAW ONE ANOTHER. I HAVE THE PICTURE OF LANE, FRED AND SAM IN AN ALBUM AND I WILL ALWAYS TREASURE THAT. TAKE CARE OF ONE ANOTHER AND TREASURE YOUR TIME TOGETHER. LOVE GAIL
