LANE PATRICK SMITH

Lane Patrick Smith, 57, of Covington, died Tuesday, July 11, 201,7 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
He was born Aug. 20, 1959, in Blossburg, a son of Stanley and Shelva (Gaylord) Smith. Lane was married to Elizabeth "Liz" (Brion) Smith.
He was the owner/operator of L. P. Smith Co. in Mansfield, a member of the Covington Church of Christ, F&AM of PA, Lodge #247, member of Snowshoe Hunting Camp, enjoyed swimming, working in the field with his brush hog, being on his tractor, and watching his children - the light of his life - in their school activities. He was a United States Army veteran.
Lane is survived by his wife, Liz; a son and daughter, Brion Lewis Smith, Lauren Elizabeth Smith at home; his mother, Shelva Smith of Mansfield; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donnie and Jeanette Brion of Covington; sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Joe) Kriner of Covington, Annette (Todd) Winder of Eden, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, Angela (Kriner) and Anthony Garritano, Jessie Kriner, Nicolette and Brice Winder; great-niece, Sofia Garritano. He was predeceased by his very special grandmother, Helen Gaylord and his grandfather, Lewis Gaylord.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, July 15, from 11 a.m., to 2 p.m., at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., at the funeral chapel with the Rev. James Donahoo officiating. Burial will be in Gray Cemetery, Covington.
