Larkin "Glen" Nelson Rose BRISTOL, Tenn. Mr. Larkin "Glen" Nelson Rose, age 75, of the Denton Valley community, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 in Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1934, in the Alvarado community of Washington County, Va., a son of the late Benjamin Ray and Cindy Louise Nelson Rose. Mr. Rose was a U.S. veteran having served his country in the Army. He was a member of the Denton Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Nila Ruth Rose of Bristol Tennessee; two daughters, Debra Sue Elvish and husband, Graham of Bristol Tennessee, and Pamela Bennett and husband, Lloyd of Churchton, Md.; two sons, David E. Rose of Spotsylvania, Va., and Charles G. Rose and wife, Nancy of Hollywood, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Leanne Walker, Joshua Rose and wife, Vicky, Jordon Rose and wife, Nicole, Sabrina Rose, Jeremy Rose, Ashley Rose, Susan Bennett, Amy Bennett, Julia Howes and Joseph Bennett; six great- grandchildren; one brother, Robert Ralph Denton of Foley, Ala.; and one sister, Loretta Jean McNeil of Madison, N.C. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Warren Chang and the 3rd floor staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital for the loving care shown to Mr. Rose and his family. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 at the Denton Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Military graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Greenwood Cemetery, with honors provided by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard. A book of memories is available online at Frost Funeral Home of Abingdon, Va., is honored to serve the family of Mr. Rose.

uncle Glen always will be one of the greatest men that i have had the privilege to know, it was an honor to know that he was my uncle. He is with my granny and his other family that has gone on before him. Glen is now sitting at the feet of JESUS and i pray that i will see him when it's my time to go home.
