Larry Flicek Obituary
A proud graduate of Sullivan High School in Chicago, Class of 1972, Larry went on to build a career rooted in commitment and service. He worked for 27 years as a Teamster, demonstrating steadfast reliability and a strong work ethic. Following that chapter of his life, he spent 11 years working for Glenview School District 34, where his presence was valued by colleagues and students alike.
After retiring from his professional career, Larry embraced one of the most meaningful roles of his life-serving as a caregiver for his two beloved granddaughters. For 11 years, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to Emma and Claire Bryant, who were truly the light of his life. His love and care left an indelible mark on their lives and created cherished memories that will endure.
Larry's passions reflected his love for nature and craftsmanship. He found joy in fishing and camping-activities that allowed him to connect with the outdoors and those around him. A skilled woodworker, he took pride in creating with his hands. He also loved traveling, exploring new places with curiosity and enthusiasm. Above all else, Larry held a deep love for his country-a sentiment that shaped much of how he lived his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Cheryl Flicek (née Baker); daughters Katie Bryant (née Flicek) and Meghan Flicek; son-in-law James Bryant; and granddaughters Emma and Claire Bryant. His legacy continues through them and the many lives he touched along the way.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Flicek; father Clyde Knight; and stepfather Wally Flicek.
A private gathering of immediate family will be held.
Donations may be made in his memory to Kellogg Cancer Center, Evanston, Il.
May Larry's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.

Although we didn´t see each other often I felt a special bond to my cousin Larry. I attribute that to our fathers being identical twins.
