Larry Goodrich Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
Larry P. Goodrich, 68, passed away on September 18, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on March 7, 1957, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, Larry lived a life marked by dedication to his work, deep love for his family, and an enduring zest for life.

As a younger man, Larry explored many varied careers and enjoyed trying out new industries. He worked as a prison guard, a state trooper, a coal miner, and in a steel mill for a time. After moving to Houston, Larry built a successful career as a consultant in the construction engineering field, where he applied his expertise and commitment for many years. His professional life was characterized by diligence and integrity. After retiring recently, he embraced the opportunity to explore new adventures and spend more time with those he loved most.

A man of many passions, Larry found joy in travel and golf. Whether teeing off on a sunny afternoon or planning the next getaway with his wife Lisa, he embraced each moment with enthusiasm. Music was another constant in his life-he especially cherished the sounds of James Taylor and the Eagles. These melodies often served as the soundtrack to road trips and family gatherings alike.

Larry's fun-loving spirit and generous nature were evident to all who knew him. He never hesitated to lend a hand with projects or step up during family events. As he and Lisa transitioned into their empty-nest years, they made the most of their time together by visiting destinations both near and far. Yet no matter where he traveled, Larry's heart remained firmly rooted in his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lisa; treasured daughters September (Casey Cook) and Taylor; dear niece Lindsey Blake; adored granddaughter Cynarra Teffault; loving siblings Francis McAfee, Linda Goodrich, Nancy Szot, and Tom Goodrich; as well as his devoted dog Bella and several special nieces, nephews, and cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his sister Connie Atkinson and his parents Phillip and Mary Goodrich.

Larry's greatest joy came from being surrounded by family and friends. His warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire love and laughter for years to come. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Blood Cancer United (formerly known as Leukemia & Lymphoma Society).

Uncle Larry was an especially kind person. As a kid I was privileged to spend time with him and, in those formative years of my life, I was inspired by his curious nature and his gracious demeanor. I hope to carry those characteristics as a lasting legacy for an Uncle that I always admired. Safe travels Larry Goodrich you will be missed.
