My wife Gina and son Zachary join me in extending our heartfelt condolences to Dario and all of Larry's family. He was an amazing man, and his passing a terrible loss for all of us.
I first met Larry almost exactly 25 years ago as I was embarking on a new career in yachting. I had the pleasure of taking over command of Larry's sailboat, Island Star. A few years later, Island Star was replaced by a larger yacht...Quixote, and the start of a grand new adventure began. I had the privilege and pleasure of working closely with Larry to make that dream a reality. Lots of fantastic memories of places visited, new friendships made and great experiences enjoyed by all. Being a significant part of making that adventure happen is a memory I will always cherish. Larry and Dario remained dear friends long after my working for Larry had ended.
We have lost a great man...we shall all miss Larry. Jeff, Gina and Zachary Hardgrave

Isabelle and I would like to send our warmest regards and condolence to Dario and Larry's family.
I met Larry more than 20 years ago in the Caribbean when he generously engaged me as the mate aboard his yacht 'Quixote' that was about to embark upon a world tour. As one of the crew of Quixote, I was fortunate to know Larry and to be part of the adventure of his world tour from the Caribbean to New Zealand. I am indebted to Larry as I met my wife during this tour and have many wonderful memories and friendships that are still strong thanks to Larrys introduction and kindness. Larry remained a contact and much valued acquaintance ever since and we will sorely miss the chance to meet up again as we had become accustomed to do, whenever we crossed paths around the world.
With sincere regards from Isabelle and Clive.

Larry was a lifelong friend to my brother Bud Edel. Larry and Bud met as teenagers in downtown Marshalltown where they both worked. Those beginning connections continued and deepened. Larry and Bud entered the army together in 1951. They served in Korea. They returned home to start their individual lives. Bud was best man in Larry and Millie's wedding and became Godfather to number two son, Brian. They continued to keep in close touch--periodic visits, phone calls, letters. Bud died in 2003, but Larry continued to faithfully remember us--Bud's family. We are saddened by Larry's death, but know as Larry himself said--"I've had a good life and I'm ready to go."
Our deepest sympathy to Kevin, Randy, Tim, and Brian and to Larry's partner Dario Espinosa.
We shall miss our dear and loyal friend Larry Lee Luing
