Larry Rendin, Jr. Obituary
Son of the late Helen and Dr. Larry Rendin, Skip grew up in Rose Valley. He was a 1966 graduate of Nether Providence High School, where he earned the nickname ?Animal? for his sense of humor, antics and athleticism. He played high school football and was captain of the wrestling team. Following graduation, he attended the University of Massachusetts to play football.
After meeting the love of his life, Emily, Skip moved to Swarthmore and worked as a detective for the Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division and later as a private investigator for Urella Detective Bureau. In 1980, he established Rendin Alarm Company, a corporation which now serves the tri-state area.
Skip was generous, humble and kind.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Emily Rendin, children, Jay Rendin (Elizabeth), Erica Kaufman (Chris), and Abby Rendin, grandchildren Salvatore, Marco, Helena, Christian and Addison and siblings Bobbi Rendin Morris, Sandy Rendin and Joe Rendin.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday evening, April 16, 2015, 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Rigby Harting and Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St. Media, Pa. Memorial Service is Friday, April 17, 2015, at 11:00am at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church, 727 Harvard Ave. Swarthmore, PA.

My condolences to the Rendin family and friends.
I played football with Skip at NPHS. Although I haven't seen him since high school he was a person and personality I have never forgotten. I'm sorry to hear he has passed.

The Rendin and Farrington families became friends in the 1950's. We lived across the street from each other in Swarthmore and were in each others homes all the time. Skippy even volunteered to take me to my prom! My father and Skip had a very special bond and now I know that they are together. My love and prayers to Emily and the entire family

Dear Emily, Jay,Erica, Abby and the entire Rendin family, We have gotten to know Skip and Emily over the years after their daughter, Erica, married Chris. We didn't get to see them much but it was always an enjoyable time when we did because they were so nice. At this time we would like to send our condolences to you Emily and to your children and family. We could always tell just by talking to Skip that he was truly a loving and affectionate man. His 'niceness' was something that you just felt. We hope that you can get through this sad time by remembering all the great things that happened because of him. May the perpetual light shine upon him and may you all comfort each other just as he would have done.

I am heartbroken at the loss of Skippy. My husband, Chalky, and I have known him since his high school days. Such a caring friend. During Chalky's last year Skip visited him almost weekly and called me just to see how I was doing and offering his place in the mountains if we were able to go. He will be so missed by so many. My prayers and thoughts to all of his wonderful family.

When I moved from Chicago, you were the first family to accept and make me feel welcome to Swarthmore. That is something that I will never forget. Uncle skip was my favorite uncle. He always had time for the kids...Always. we had fun camping when I was little and he taught me about the joys of miracle whip.
