Larry Anderson Stephen Riley Larry Riley, 74, of Anderson, Indiana passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at home with his wife, Diannah, and his beloved dog, Shorty Jones, by his side. He was born January 22, 1944 in Anderson to Esmond and Lois Riley. Larry attended Pendleton High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. He was a member of the Cross Country team.

Larry was proud of his small town upbringing, his school, and his service in the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Air Force Reserve serving as a C-119 Loadmaster. He retired from General Motors, working at Delco Remy Division and Saturn Corporation, after forty-two years of service as a Journeyman Machine Repairman.

Following retirement, he and Diannah moved to The Villages, Florida where he continued his lifelong woodworking passion at The Villages Wood Shop. Larry specialized in making historically accurate chairs, shaker boxes, and decorative pieces. Larry was a special person and very talented with his work and hobbies. He had recently returned to live in Anderson to be near his son, Aaron, after living in Columbia, Tennessee and retirement in The Villages, Florida.

Left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife of fifty-nine years, Diannah; his loving son, Aaron; his brother, Doug (Teri) Riley of Pendleton; his sister, Rhoda (Mike) Miller of The Villages, FL; his brother-in-law, David (Jennie) Young of Pendleton; sister-in-law, Judy Young of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Esmond "Bill" Riley and his mother, Lois Riley of Anderson.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society and The Villages Woodworking Shop.

As per Larry's wishes, no services have been planned. Neptune Society is in charge of cremation arrangements.
