Larry ST JOHN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 30, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father and grandfather, Larry StJohn. He passed away on December 18, 2024 and was surrounded by his family. Larry was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on April 5, 1941, the youngest child of Harold and Mary StJohn. Larry grew up in

Marshalltown and attended Marshalltown High School where he excelled in sports, especially basketball. He was well known and liked by his classmates and known as "Saint" by everyone.

After graduation in 1959, he joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California where he lived the rest of his life. While he was in the navy, he was a corpsman and became an x-ray technologist. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he worked as an x-ray technologist until he retired in 2010. He also graduated from San Diego State University in 1969 and later earned a Master's Degree in Psychology.

He married Barbara Ater in 1966 and they had two daughters, Kelly and Erin. He also had three children from a previous marriage, Deborah, Philip and Mark.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughters, Kelly and Erin, Mark and Mark's wife, Nicole as well as Deborah StJohn. Larry was a

proud grandfather (referred to as "Papa"), of Alyssa, her husband, Joenelly, Tatiana and Kaiden. He loved his family very much and enjoyed the company of his grandchildren. He always put his family first and he will be missed by everyone he knew.

A service will take place at Miramar National Cemetery on February 20, 2025 at 12:30 PM.
