Larry R. Wallace, 72, of McPherson, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at his home in McPherson. He was an automobile dealer, Wallace Chevrolet, Inc. of McPherson. Larry was born on July 29, 1937, in Nevada, Missouri, the son of Wilbur Roland and Cleo Josephine (Long) Wallace. He graduated from El Dorado Springs, MO High School. On July 26, 1968, Larry was united in marriage to Barbara E. Benson in Kansas City, MO. Larry was a member of the Church of Christ, McPherson, Past President of McPherson Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Board of Directors for Home State Bank, McPherson. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson with Minister Gary Witcher officiating. Private family burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery following the service. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Survivors include: his wife, Barbara of the home; son, Chris Wallace and wife, Catrina, of McPherson; daughter, Kimberly McHugh and husband, Evan, of Rockton, IL; grandchildren, Megan, Eric, Trisha, and Tiffany McHugh, and Alayna and Hayden Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur R. and Cleo J. (Long) Wallace. Memorial contributions may be given to the McPherson Church of Christ Scholarship Fund or McPherson Healthcare Foundation in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
