SHAMOKIN — LaRue Knowles Lehman, 93, formerly of 201 W. Mulberry St. and South Seventh Street, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Mount View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.

She was born in Ranshaw, Dec. 7, 1921, a daughter of the late William Knowles and Elvania (Taylor).

She was a 1939 graduate of Shamokin High School.

LaRue was self-employed, owning her own beauty shop for more than 40 years.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Shamokin.

She is survived by a son, Richard Lehman, of Palmyra; and a brother, Rodger Knowles, of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina.

LEHMAN — LaRue Knowles Lehman, 93, formerly of 201 W. Mulberry St. and South Seventh Street, Shamokin. Due to Rudie's wishes, all services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. John's United Church of Christ, 117 N. Eighth St., Shamokin 17872. Farrow Funeral Directors, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, are in charge of arrangements.
