Laura Alice Abrahamson was born on January 25, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York to Helen and Lawrence Keegan and remained a sassy New Yorker throughout her life. Laura passed away on December 21, 2022. As a 25-year resident of Utah, Laura and her husband John embraced the Utah way of life, loving camping, hunting, and their many outdoor adventures traveling throughout the Southwest. Laura was also a cat lover like no other – her latest love was Happy, the fattest cat in the world.
Laura was predeceased by her husband John, parents Helen and Lawrence Keegan, her sister and brother-in-law Bunny and Jack Talbot, and great-nephew Jeremy Scheffer. She is survived by her eight nieces and nephews, fifteen great nieces and nephews, five great-great nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 South 2200 West Riverton, Utah. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Utah Humane Society (www.utahhumane.org)

We met in 1970 when I graduated high school and was a new hire at Chemical bank, where Laura worked. We became friends and stayed friends through the years, even though we lived in different states. I will miss our short but frequent phone calls. We shared a love for cats, hockey and we would often reminisce about our fun times working in the city and the people we met along the way. I’ll never forget our trip to Miami in 1972..I can’t believe how quickly you left and I will always miss my friend..till we meet again. ❤

A good friend since 1964. Never a dull moment when Laura was around!
I’ll miss our chats about the NY Rangers; and receiving my first Christmas card of the season the day after Halloween! So glad we got to see each other after the QEII trip. Rest In Peace my friend. I’m sure John welcomed you with open arms to heaven. If you run into Rod Gilbert up there, say hello for me!

My heart broke when i heard of your passing. There are no words to describe the loss of Laura, my larger than life friend and snack buddy from the Beckstead. Everyday she had a funny antidote or story to share, always bubbly aura and ready to make you laugh. I´ll never forget the way you laugh, your smile, funny stories from your days in New York, taking you with me to the "studio 54" carwash, sharing snacks, and just being around you. You were always at my desk waiting to tell me so funny story, gossip or anything to make me laugh. You will always be one of my favorite people and I will cherish our memories forever. See you on the other side my friend, I´ll miss you much.

I will miss my eastern friend from New York and her" new york state of mind." Especially the talks of our common interests, mostly polish food and pizza. Gus misses you too. So very glad we met. Thank you for being my friend. May we meet again someday. ❤ Rose and Gus. Beckstead Apt
