Laura Edith Caldwell DARLINGTON - Edith Caldwell age 86, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 in Bethea Baptist Retirement Community. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Sunday, June 6 at Bethea Baptist Church with interment following in Carter's Ford Baptist Church Cemetery in Lodge, SC at 5:00 directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born September 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Caldwell. Edith was a member of Carter's Ford Baptist Church in Lodge, SC until age 18. She attended North Greenville Junior College, and graduated from Lander University. She worked as a dietician at North Greenville Junior College and then retired from Epworth Children's Home in Columbia. She was a member and choir member of Bethea Baptist Church in Darlington. Surviving are three sisters; Clarice C. Davis, May C. Reid both of Bethea Home, Susan C. Higgins of Charlotte, a brother; Edwin B. Caldwell of New Ellen-ton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by John Caldwell Jr. and Rose C. Bozard: World World II Veterans; Mendel Caldwell Sr., Alvin Caldwell and Julian Caldwell.
