Laura A. Linn

Laura A. Linn, 84, of Slocum Township, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at home surrounded by family.

Born in Slocum Township on Nov. 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosa Gommer.

Laura was the matriarch of the family. Her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She helped raise three generations of children. Until June she was helping care for her great-grandchildren, Zoe and Brody.

She was an active member of the Diva Dolls chapter of the Red Hats Society. She truly enjoyed the parties and outings with the other Divas. Hats, dresses, furs and bling were necessary attire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, on Nov. 25, 2004; sister, Rosetta Schuler; and brothers, Leslie, Clyde and William Gommer.

Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Stewart and husband, Harold, Slocum Township; son, Keith Linn, Slocum Township; grandchildren, Kelly Giberson, Keith Linn Jr., Jason Stewart and wife, Shilo, Jeremy Stewart and Cathy, Jolene Linn; great-grandchildren, Jada Giberson, Jesse Giberson, Skylar Linn, Zoe Stewart and Brody Stewart; brother, Merle Gommer; nieces and nephews.

Though we did not want to lose her, we can find peace knowing she is with Les and her dear sister, Rosetta, with whom she enjoyed many adventures.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with her nephew, the Rev. Jeffrey Schuler, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Stairville Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
