Laura Mah (nee Favia) passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the age of 53, after a courageous battle with cancer. Laura was predeceased by her parents and survived by her husband Keith, daughter Julianna, and brother Joe (Marie).

Funeral Mass to be held on Monday, March 4th, St. Joseph's Parish, 140 Moody St., Port Moody at 10:30am. Internment to follow at Ocean View Mausoleum in Burnaby.

In lieu of flower, please donate to the Surrey Hospice Society at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Time has a way of slipping by..but never do we forget those we care for that have left us too soon and too fast.....Dearest Laura was one of these. I will always remember Laura for her kindness, her warmth, her smile, intelligence, her zest for life and the ability to have fun. Earth became a little dimmer when she passed, but Heaven got brighter! May her memories bring comfort to Keith and her daughter....My kindests regards.....

Laura Mah was utterly loyal to God, her family and her friends. Our family are devastated by Laura's passing. She was an integral part of our lives for almost 30 years; first as a work colleague, always a beloved friend and latterly our admirable and talented business partner. Laura exemplified the devoted, traditional Italian daughter, which she balanced beautifully with living her life as a contemporary Canadian woman. Laura was the light that shone on all those around her; family, friends and guests of il Destino. She lived her values, which were of the highest standards; her humour, warmth and generosity of spirit was a gift to us all. Julianna was her greatest pride and joy and Keith her greatest love. Our beautiful friend has left a legacy for those who were privileged to know her as given testament to at her service and in this memorial guest book.

We were so very sorry to hear of the passing of Laura. Our fondest memory was the evening spent on Galiano playing Mexican Train. The sound of her laugh as she triumphantly countered a move will stay with us always. Laura loved life and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Some twenty years ago we were blessed to meet Laura and Keith Mah while doing a baby stroll down Ravine Street with our beautiful little girls ... the Mah's with Julianna and us with Janelle. We connected instantly since Laura and Lina were both East Van girls, both from Italian heritage, both with close ties to Lady of Sorrows church. Time passes far too quickly and the effect becomes devastating when such an incredible human being is now beyond our physical reach. Laura ... you are now with your Mom, Dad and others near and dear to you, finally finding eternal joy and peace. Our hearts and prayers are directed to Keith, Julianna and all family and close friends. We are so sorry for your loss of Laura ... a beautiful, caring, delightful soul who will be missed forever by so many.

How does one express the sadness of the loss of such an amazing woman. There are no words. Laura will always remain in my heart with such love and friendship.
