Laura Tullos Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 4, 2025.
Laura Tullos passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 7, 1950, she often marveled at her age with every passing year. She lived in Michigan until 2011, when she moved to the welcomed warmth of Florida to care for her aging father, Henry Tullos.

Joyful, kind, and generous, Laura had a deep love for all animals. She was always surrounded by the comfort of her pets, mostly dogs and cats, whom she treated like family.

For nearly 40 years, Laura worked as a customer service representative at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, where she was known for her dedication, patience, and warm voice.

She loved cruising through the Caribbean, feeling the ocean breeze, exploring island shores, and dreaming of one day making it to Tahiti. She was a regular at local bingo nights with friends, a puzzle enthusiast, an avid reader, and had an impressive green thumb. Many will remember Laura for her childlike wonder, her sweet laugh, and her love of the beach.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma, who passed when Laura was only eight years old; her brother, Henry Michael "Mickey" Tullos; and her father, Henry Tullos.

She leaves behind her daughter, Cathryn; her granddaughter, Tiffany; and her great-granddaughter, Cecilia, who will carry her love and light forward.

In keeping with Laura's wishes, there will be no memorial service. In remembrance of Laura and her lifelong devotion to animals, donations to a local shelter or rescue would be a meaningful tribute.

My brother Raymond "Robby" Robinson and myself grew up on the same street with Laura on Riverbank St, Lincoln Park, Michigan. Laura was always special to us even though we moved away at 8 and 9 years old. We never forgot her and her sweet disposition. RIP
