Lauren Alvar Obituary

Lauren John Alvar, 65, of Westberg Rd., Hermantown, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at Edgewood Vista. He was born in Duluth on Dec. 13, 1939 to William Henning and Edna Dorothea (Johnson) Alvar. Lauren spent most of his adult life in Minneapolis working for the sheltered workshop. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Janet Pawlowicz. Survivors include his siblings, Marilyn Pelto of Saginaw, Ronald (Christy) of Duluth, and Linda (Fred) Vacanti of Warroad; many nieces and nephews and extended family. Lauren was a kind and gentle man with a quick contagious smile and laugh. He loved country and old time music, and the time spent with family was precious to him. MEMORIAL SERVICE:1 p.m Thursday in Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Park Hill Cemetery.

Uncle Lauren was a very sweet man. Nate and I did not see him often, but the time we spent with him was enjoyable. God Bless You, Uncle Lauren.
