Lauren Michelle Fitzsimmons February 21, 2023 On Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, Lauren Michelle Fitzsimmons, loving partner of Andris Kasparovics, passed away from glioblastoma, at the age of 42. Lauren was born on July 6, 1980, in New Hartford, NY, to Debbie (Traves) Brown of Aiken, SC and John J. Fitzsimmons, Jr., of Syracuse, NY. Following 13 years of classical ballet training, Lauren attended the Forman School, Litchfield, CT, then earned a BFA in Scenic Design for Theatre, at SUNY Purchase College's Conservatory for Theatre Arts & Film. Following graduation, Lauren launched a 19 year career, as Art Director, then Production Designer for TV and film in NYC and Hollywood, CA. She was a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 IATSE and the Art Directors Guild, and was represented by the Gersh Agency. Lauren's bio and credits are listed on IMDB.com. Based in LA since 2013, Lauren loved living under the Hollywood sign, with Andris and their two cats, Hi and Lo Contrast. Lauren will be dearly missed by her family, especially her brother, Travis Fitzsimmons. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Pat and Romilly Traves of OH and Rita and John Fitzsimmons Sr. of NY. Lauren was a beautiful lady. She was extremely Kind, Patient and Loving. I met Lauren and Andris many years ago when I adopted two calico sisters to them. These kitties became the much loved and spoiled Hi and Lo Contrast. We stayed in touch and I was always happy to hear from her.
My condolences to Lauren's loved ones, her family, friends and co-workers. We were blessed to have known her.

I remember meeting Lauren at my niece Christa's wedding and sharing time getting to know her. I thought what a beautiful soul she had! My deepest condolences to her whole family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear of Lauren's passing, and wanted to send my condolences. I worked with her on many MasterClass productions, and her set designs were absolutely stunning. She was such a joy to work with, and will be missed dearly.

I remember walking on our property in Costa Rica with Lauren and we passed by a huge spider She was so happy to see the spider and told me that she had come before to Costa Rica to only study this spider (The golden orb weaver) I was so impressed with her and the spider! After that day every time I see one golden orb weaver I see her with her beautiful red hair and her gentle style. She will be always in my memories from this walk. A beauty inside out.
