It was always our privilege to work with Lauren at New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble in Summit. She was a very talented and driven dancer and moved with great expression. My greatest memories were teaching her in her ballet classes and in private ballet classes. Seeing the bright light in her artistic eyes and how inspired she was dancing. She especially loved to jump and move and disappeared into her own world. Dance is a important way to express the things we cannot say in Life especially for young people. We send Love to Lauren infinitely and to her family. Best Regards,

Dear James, Helen and David,
This is Bill, Carolyn, Max and Christina,
We are so very sad about your loss. Max told me that Lauren taught him to draw stars. He remembers how they would laugh so hard on the third level of your Wilmette home. Christina remembers their Banner graduation and cried when I told her the news. "She was my best friend in preschool" she said as she cried. I often think of you and hoped you were doing well. We look back at our many photos and remember kinder days. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, With our fondest wishes.
Very truly the Pegg family

Lauren was so kind and so gentle - it is a common theme for all those whose paths touched Lauren's in elementary and middle school, and it is so heartbreaking trying to digest what has happened. Your honesty and openness yesterday was so loving, and so brave. Lauren's voice was heard yesterday in many, many hearts, and the foundation you founded helps all of us find a way to honor Lauren and extend her voice - and her caring spirit - to all those struggling with this silent illness.

Helen, Jim and David,
Lauren's funeral was the most moving, heartbreaking, beautiful experience. I am in awe of Jim's profound eulogy -- his words will never leave me. Helen and Jim, you are so brave and inspiring to talk about mental illness and share the pain Lauren was living in. Dear Liu Family,
Lauren will forever remain in our memory as the tall, sweet, outgoing, and athletic girl with a big smile. Ever since she came to Hartshorn school she became a good friend of our younger daughter Brooke as they were in the same grade and the same friends circle. Next thing I knew there were playdates, birthday parties (a lot of them over the years), sleepovers, Bar-mitzvah, etc. I remembered Lauren and Brooke and other girls having fun jumping on our backyard trampoline together. Occasionally I picked up Lauren from her home or dropped her off after the playdates she was always polite and pleasant.
After graduation from Hartshorn elementary school they went on to spend another three years together at Millburn Middle School.
I remember the last time we saw Lauren we met while both families were visiting Kent Place on the school's open house day. It was a pleasant surprise. Later we were happy to learn that Lauren got accepted by Kent Place and joined the varsity tennis team. We thought she would go on to have a great future ahead of her until this week's tragedy.
