Coming up on another year since you have been gone, not a day goes by that I don’t think of you and the last time we were alternating crying and laughing together. There’s always something to remind me, so many things I wish I could hear your thoughts and perspectives about in life.

I just found out about Lauren's passing and I'm beyond saddened that such a strong and beautiful woman has been taken too soon. She was an amazing employee; insightful and courteous! I had the honor of working with her for almost a year as her star shined bright at ASU. My whole team loved and respected her. She also made the best chocolate chip Nutella cookies ever! May her family find peace through this tragedy.

I left a previous message when I posted the picture of Lauren, Andrew, Taylor and Casey on the quad at Forrest Lakes. For whatever reason it didn't post so I will make another attempt.
The reason for the photo was simple - I will always remember the kids (including Erin who is absent from this one) as just that. The kids. Growing up with Lauren being a year ahead of Erin and Taylor - with Andrew a year behind them and Casey the next year. About as close to siblings as anything else.
May God bless and see you through in this time
of need. May peace be with you.

I am so sorry.
I had the honor of being one of Lauren's professors at ASU. She was talented, smart and insightful and funny.
She reported and wrote unique stories, ones that "cast light among the shadows."
The loss for her loved ones is incalculable. The world will miss her, too.

The Dougherty's and Marshall's have been on my mind every single day since I heard about Lauren. There really are no words. I can't even begin to imagine your anguish and pain of losing such a wonderful family member. Lauren had a brief time here with you all but your memories of her are forever etched in your hearts. It is evident in the words and photos shared online. Remember that she had a beautiful family who loved her very much.

this is what I see

This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Years pass all too fast-my memory returns to 1995, a special year, unbeknownst to us. Lauren's birth. The year I retired. Alison's need to work one more year and Iwas given the most prescious gift of being Lauren's caretaker. Memories to share- sitting in front window watching for Mom and Dad to come home, hiding behind doors to say boo when they entered. Playing in snow. She had a toy with disks that played nursery rhymes. WAtching her dance and singing. So funny. Alison and I were just laughing about this a couple months ago. Janet, Casey and Taylor going with me to music recitals for Andrew and Lauren. Play Clare de Lune I said. Just a look. Never played by either. The pride in graduations-cum laude with 2 degrees from ASU. A sorority chasen which dealt with Alzheimer's. Always busy. Watching in the kitchen as she talked on the phone would make you dizzy. Around an around she walked. I will miss talking with her about everything. Her excitement over getting to vote the first time. The daily grinding in the world.
Seeing admission to some great universities for her masters and PHD.
Friends to everyone-stranger to none. Guiding light to many.
I miss you so. I love you lots! So do we all.
Thank you for your time with us. We are all richer.
Love,
Your Grandmother Shirley

Allison Brad & Andrew,
Sending you love and healing wishes to help you cope with your sorrow at this sudden loss. In the blink of an eye our lives have been forever changed. Lauren was an amazing niece. Her soul was so full of love and she was even more beautiful inside then out. I loved her smile, her laugh, I even loved the way she wasn't afraid to stand up for what she believed in whether it was politics, greed, the good the bad . . . she was fearless and stood her ground. One of the many things that would always make me smile from the time she was little and onward was the way she would have that little "bounce" in her step. I know silly ... but I loved it and I loved her so much. I hope that she is at peace ... such a devastating loss. I know this is long. Believe it or not I shortened it.
In closing to all the Marshall Family and Dougherty Family may we find a way to heal and endure:
 A quote from Rose Kennedy

"it has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not a agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone."
Love All of You!
