Lauren Smith Obituary

Published by Contra Costa Times on Nov. 5, 2015.
Lauren Rae Smith
Nov 13, 1999 - Nov 1, 2015
Resident of Martinez
Lauren Rae Smith passed away suddenly and unexpectedly early on Sunday morning.
Lauren was a junior at College Park High School in Pleasant Hill and a member of the drama department. She was currently cast in the roll of Mrs. Kirby in the school play "You Can't Take it With You". She was also a member of the school's media team covering the football games.
She is survived by her mother Kelly, father Rob, sister Hayley, niece Aurora Belle, grandparents Randy and Roxie Leptien and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Lauren loved family, music, reading, posting on Facebook, hanging out with her many friends and caring for her baby niece, Aurora. Though her life on this earth was short, she touched many with her sweet smile and kind loving ways.
In lieu of flowers donations in Lauren's name may be made to the College Park High School Drama department or a charity of choice. Services will be private.

To the Smith Family: 4 years later, Stephanie and I have not forgotten the breath of sunshine and happy times which was Lauren. When I am tired and frustrated about what life is serving me, I think about Lauren and how young she was and here I am, so much older and alive and having the opportunity to be frustrated. Sometimes I tell myself to keep up the good fight and be cheerful and grateful I still can fight the good fight and do it for Lauren. Again this year we plan to sponsor a light in her honor on the hospice tree in Martinez. As long as we are on this earth, she will be cherished. Marjorie Wallace and Stephanie Greenwood-Wallace

Rob and Kelly: Nearly one year later, Lauren has been in our hearts and minds almost daily. Just letting you know Stephanie and I donated to East Bay Hospice's Tree of Lights in Pleasant Hill in memory of Lauren. The tree will be lit and Lauren's name read out loud on Thursday, November 17th at 6:30 p.m.

Robbie and Kelly, there will never be enough words within my heart to convey the sorrow I have at this moment for the loss of your beautiful daughter Lauren Rae Smith.

May our good and gracious God wrap his loving arms around you providing comfort and encouragement and strength for the days that will come.

May our hope be in Jesus, His Salvation, and Eternal Life in his Heavenly Kingdom.

God Bless His Child Lauren, and God Bless Robbie and Kelly.

To the Smith Family. I am so sorry for your loss. I never had the honor of meeting your Angel, but she seemed like she touched everyone she met.

We first met Lauren through Childtime. Both my daughters Lauren and Samantha became friends with her. She was such as sweet girl. I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. My heart goes out to all of you. May God bless you all. Lisa McDonald (Rebrovich)

Words cannot convey how sorry I am. Lauren was in many of Marissa's classes at Valhalla Elementary. She would always talk to me or wave when she would see me on campus. I know her Valhalla family, students and parents from her Elementary school days are grieving her loss. My husband Marc, daughter Marissa and myself, will always remember Lauren. Our hearts go out to her family.
