Laurence "Loz" Darmon

Laurence "Loz" Darmon was born on September 30, 1952, in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England to Harry Darmon and Dorothy Beatrice Darmon (née Halliday). He married Té Crystal Thammavongsa on March 17, 2002, in Snohomish, WA. He passed away at home with his family and friends at his side on December 8, 2023 at the age of 71 years after battling a rare form of cancer.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Té Crystal Darmon and her daughter Télee of Houston, TX, his former wife Shelley and their son Michael of Houston, TX.

As a 1974 geology graduate of the University of London, Loz embarked on what became a life of adventure and accomplishment, initially with Core Laboratories as a Wellsite Geologist in the North Sea, Africa, Mexico, Central and South America. In 1980 he joined Core Lab E and C in Dallas, developing petrophysics and reservoir description expertise that became the foundation of his long and successful career with Schlumberger and their NeXT division as a Geoscience Curriculum Director and Instructor. In this role over 18+ years, he passionately helped the careers of countless energy professionals on six continents.

Loz will be remembered for his love of adventure that took him to every corner of the world, Té always by his side. Together they took on the challenges, joys, and travel opportunities that assignments in Brazil, Malaysia, and Dubai provided. He will always be remembered as a true and loyal friend.
