Laurence (Larry) Goodman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2025.
Larry died peacefully from a stroke in Rancho Mirage, CA. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Jack and Dorothy Goodman and raised in Rockville Centre.

One of the best dressed men you'll ever meet, Larry was charismatic, artistic, handsome, creative, and loving. He spent his professional life in the garment industry in Los Angeles and New York. He had an eye for beautifully made clothing, antiques, and architecture. He loved music, the arts, travel, his family, dark chocolate and ice cream. Larry retired to his oasis, Palm Desert, CA in 2000 where he had a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. Larry volunteered for many years at The Braille Institute teaching cooking and was a docent at Eisenhower Hospital.

Larry is survived by his son Jordan Goodman (Claudia), daughter, Risa Groux (Ron), Jonathan (Samantha), Alan (Linda), his grandchildren Sarah (Eric), Chase, Staas, Taylor, Miles, and Kyle along with nieces and nephews. Larry's identical twin brother Edward passed in November 2022 and older brother Stephen in May 2025.

Services will be held on Friday, June 6th at 11:30 graveside at Mount Ararat Cemetery, Lindenhurst, NY

We will miss Larry´s style, grace, warmth and good sense of humor. Never a dull moment when Larry was in the room. Always had a great anecdote to impart to we younger members of the family about our elders. May his memory be a blessing.
