Laurie was our close friend for 50 years from the age of 15. He was the brother my husband never had and 'Uncle Laurie' was loved and adored by our children as a true member of the family. He had a wonderful way of talking and joking with young people that endeared him and made him very special. For us, his sense of humour, his natural good nature, his charisma is something we will never forget. We recently shared a holiday in Miami with him and his family and we were all aware that his battle was coming to an end. We spoke about our special 'Laurie moments' and these will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with Carol, Michael and Sheila and everyone who has been personally affected by the loss of such a great man.

I am so sorry for the lost of your dear loved one. It's comforting to know that God cares for all of us and losing a loved one is something we cannot get used to. The Bible gives us hope that one day we can see our dear loved one again. On behalf of all mankind Jesus surrender his soul for many. John 15:13 says “No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul on behalf of his friends.” Truly I am sorry to hear of the loss of your dear loved one and I hope these few words will bring you comfort and hope.

Mr. Lewin has left many Canadians with very fond memories of not only a great entrepreneur, but as a great human being who always respected the common man. I recall a TV documentary on Mr Lewin and La Senza, when he so willingly shared the work of his La Senza family, he joined them in counting panties sitting on the floor. This was his way of respecting the work of all his staff. Again, on Dragon's Den, I was priviliged to welcome him to my home every time I watched the show. So much about this man is admired, he had no idea the impact he had on so many of us Canadians. He earned the respect we all had for him.
My deepest sympathy to all his family, cherish your memories and feel blessed to have had him as your loved one.

A Canadian class act who touched many! An entertaining & intelligent man who was gracious to all he met. I was lucky to meet him at a business event 3 years ago. And thanks for putting my wife in the best panties to keep our marriage spark. Viva La Senza.

I remember with a warm heart meeting Mr Lewin about 10 years ago at a conference in Montreal for La Senza. Another manager and myself were sitting quietly in a crowded room when Laurie walked up to us and asked us to go and have a coffee with him. We were of course terrified but who would say no! I have say, he was the most forthcoming wonderful funny man..we were both touched by the fact that he took the time to speak with us..I will always remember that about him..
You will be missed Laurie, may you rest in peace.

We will soldier on and continue to make you proud! You will always be our fearless leader.

I met Lawrence, last winter, he came to dine with his family at the restaurant I work at as a waitress, I happened to be a huge fan of The Dragon's Den, but my usual practice upon meeting celebrities, is to leave them in peace to finish their meal, and then and only then, if I am really excited, will I hit them with their fame, I tend to not over- react when faced with celebrities..... ( I met many whilst serving in restos in Old Montreal, and when I saw Lawrence, I was more excited than serving Leonardo Di Caprio, (call me crazy if you want but I beg to differ), so at the end of the meal, I told Lawrence what an absolutely, fascinating show "The Den" was, and he promptly answered, that the new season would be aired on Mondays, and that I should watch, I told him I would not miss it for anything especially as it happened to be my day off. Which brings me to tonight, watching the show with friends, remarking on how I missed Lawrence's acidic, yet vibrant well-spoken tongue............only to learn of his demise in the final credits.....
This man looked so vibrant last winter, if he was suffering from a disease, he hid it well, with dignity and poise, with strength of character, never a sign of weakness, a brilliant wit and an amazing, biting sense of humor, I served the man for an hour perhaps, never for one moment did I sense an ailing, to me he was a man I looked to for healing and learning. His death was untimely and I extend my sorrow to his family and to all who saw him for the iron brilliance that was the man.

To Carole and family, my deepest condoleances.

Laurie and I go back many many years, almost 20. He, back then saw something in me i wasn't aware i had. He had faith in me and i made sure from then that i would never dissapoint him. He trusted me and i trusted him.
He was (as for many of us) a great mentor, sometimes really tough and demanding but only to bring us to the next level. he would always recognize the good work and encourage us to do more and better.

Not many people are able to do this , Laurie could...he had a great sense of humor and charisma nobody could resist.

La Senza will never be the same without him, We can only try our best to keep his vision going in his honor.

i already miss him terribly, may he rest in peace.

It is with deep sadness and profound regret that I mourn the passing of a good friend and fellow motorcyclist.
I first met Laurie when he came to my shop to purchase a Radio Controlled airplane. Over the years he became not only a good customer but a good friend as well. I take great pride in introducing Laurie to motorcycling which later became one of his great life passions. I remember him crashing the Virago and where most others would have given up he perseveered and ended up buying and selling numerous bikes over the years except for the one he loved the most, his Harley Road King. My children loved him and would always tell their friends about their favorite Dragon.
He will be sadly missed by all of us and I would like to send our warmest condolences to Micheal, Carole and their famalies during this difficult time.

Laurie was such an integral part of my father's life, I felt as if he was a close friend of mine as well. My dad's face just lights up with stories of him and his other friends growing up. Our sincerest sympathies and deepest condolences to Carole, Michael, Sheila, Suzanne, and the Teitelbaum family. This is indeed a sad day for everyone that knew Laurie. I had the privilege of knowing Laurie since we were both kids, growing up in England and doing the things that kids do. His memory brings up an incredible array of experiences, like the times we spent driving an old Riley open two seater around an open field without our parent’s knowledge that we had actually purchased the car and that we weren’t really old enough to drive. And the time when Laurie drove a rented Mercedes down the North Circular Road in London at one hundred and ten miles an hour to try to get to a wedding ceremony before it was over, our wives, Terry and Suzanne screaming from the back seat for him to slow down, and no, we didn’t get there in time. He was funny, charming, creative, witty, and an inspiration to all whose paths he crossed. He never turned away from a challenge, and was always a source of friendly advice. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.
He has left me with lots and lots of fabulous memories.
He was a best friend, and a very important member of our extended family.
He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
May God Bless Laurence Lewin.

My condolences go out to Carole and Michael and the rest of the Lewin & Teitelbaum families at this very sad time.

Having worked with Laurie for 5 years as his administrative assistant, I know first hand what a kind, gentle and funny person Laurie was.

Having helped him bring his antique fire engine across the boarder and having Laurie take me for a ride as he rang the bell, also showed me his love for life that was unparaleled.

Having also been involved with Laurie in his numerous fund raising events, I saw first hand how people would respond immediately and positively to his request for help, just because Laurie asked. He always cared deeply for everyone and would always go out of his way to help however he could.

He will be missed!

God Bless

I hope you find comfort in this prayer;

Togetherness

Death is nothing at all – I have only slipped away into the next room.
Whatever we were before to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name; speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be the household word that is always was.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near just around the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is past, nothing is lost.
One brief moment and we will be as it was before – only better, infinitely happier and forever – we will all be one together with Christ.

Sincerely,
Laurie McNally, Victoria's Secret Stores
