Laurie Mae Hamstra

Hamstra, Laurie Mae 5/25/1930 - 12/27/2015 Heaven gained a special angel and the world lost a bright light on December 27th when precious Laurie, previously of Grand Rapids, passed away suddenly in San Ramon, CA. Laurie, who had moved to CA in April 2015, was pre-deceased by her beloved son Paul and her husband Martin. She is survived by her daughter Susan and her husband Alan Ross of Pleasanton, her granddaughter Dr. Paige and Oliver Thiermann of San Diego, CA, her daughter in- law Vivian Hamstra of Englewood, FL and grandson, Nathan Paul Hamstra of Spring Lake, MI. Laurie had a strong faith and loved people and lived life with an ongoing and positive attitude that brought cheer to all who knew her whether they be family, friends or just passing acquaintances. Her indomitable spirit will be missed by all who knew her and her passing leaves a large void in the lives of those who she loved and who loved her. A celebration of Laurie's life will be held at the Kroc Center in Grand Rapids on May 25th, her birthday. Further details will be announced in early May. When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not here to see if the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time you think of me, I know you'll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that Jesus came and called my name and took me by the hand and said my place was ready in Heaven far above and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.
