Laurie K. Mueller, 80 of Niles, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 18, 1942 in Brownsville, Texas to Lawrence and Patricia (nee Griffin) Knobloch.

Laurie graduated college with a bachelor's degree in nursing and was a proud surgical nurse at Lutheran General Hospital for 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Anna Mueller of Chicago, IL, Donald (Kelli) Mueller of Bruni, TX, Robert Mueller of Niles, IL, Mary (Walter Whitted) Delke of Wauconda, IL, Jill Mueller of Rockford, IL, and Daniel (Debra Pecinovsky) Mueller of Alpha, IA; grandchildren, Michael (Daisy) Zuniga, Emily Zuniga, Anthony (Claudia Ramos) Zuniga, Donny, Danielle, Korynn, Cordell, Delicia, and Melvin Mueller, Nicole (Josh) Thigpen, Christine (Michael Leopold) Delke, Kaitlin Delke, Jamie Mueller, Jody (Davynn) Winter, Cally and Todd Mueller; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Schartel, DeeDee Layden, Barbara VanSky and brothers, Mike, Mark and Tom Layden.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmother, Caroline.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 19 at Galati's Hideaway, 800 Feinberg Court, Cary 60013.
