Laurie Schuh Obituary
Laurie passed away unexpectedly at the age of 68 on September 12, 2025. She was the loving spouse of Amy Meese (Burlington, WI) and the rescue Mom to Bear, Alfie, Jackson and Rio. Her parents, John (Jack) Schuh and Mary Ann Schuh (Springborn) preceded her in death. Laurie is further survived by many treasured family members and friends.
Laurie was an artistic soul, a loyal supporter of animal and environmental rights and always had time for a friend in need. She was an art teacher in the Milwaukee Public School District for several years and often remarked that she loved her job and the kids she was able to mentor and teach. Even when faced with a work injury that necessitated an early retirement, she remained positive. She enjoyed spending time in Door County, her beloved sanctuary, as well as time at her home in Burlington. Laurie lived life to the fullest and was happiest when surrounded by her beloved family and friends. A celebration of Laurie's life will be scheduled later. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a charitable donation to your favorite animal rescue or environmental organization.
