Laurissa found solace and joy in the kitchen, where she recreated the cherished tradition of Sunday Italian dinners from her childhood with her signature red sauce.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing, survived by her three children, Jacey, Cameron, and Novah; her parents, Dan Mondragon and Kathleen Hannah; and her brothers, Jason and Daniel Mondragon. Her life was further enriched by her nieces and nephews, Avery, Jullian, Braydon, Bryce, and Brooks Mondragon, as well as numerous great aunts and uncles, aunts, uncles, and cousins and many lifelong friends. Laurissa was predeceased by her grandparents Paul and Linda Mondragon, Peter and Sally Curatolo and her stepfather, Donald G. Johnston.

Educated at Monterey High School, Laurissa's chosen jobs spanned the fields of hospitality, construction office work, and marketing. Her personal interests included a love of music and a passion for culinary arts.

When I met Liss in 8th grade she loved Kurt Cobain and wanted a tattoo of his face the size of her back.. she was also in love with Kenny Chesney. She was brilliant, brave and loved a good adventure.

Colton MS had a strict dress code on tank tops. It had to be the width of 2 fingers or you'd get suspended. Well,it was in the high 70s and we were tired of being so hot at school so we went out and bought tank tops and made sure it was the right width. We went to school feeling confident. We got a few classes in and then we were pulled into the office.. we were being suspended!! We were so upset that we called The Herald and shared our story with a Journalist.. we were being heard!! This was great.. we thought, "we're going to show that school!". The article came out.. we were labeled as rebellious kids! Lol but.. we stood up for what we believed in.

We've spent years collecting and making memories. We've laughed until we cried and shouted "I'm going to pee" only to start laughing and crying all over again. We spent hours down in big sur hiking and exploring Jade cove. We even picked up a hitch hiker along the way (kids, never do this).

I'm thankful for your sisterhood and you dedicated friendship. Keep shining on us from above.

This memory was one we would always laugh about anytime we´d see each other. I can remember clearly when i decided to convince her at the ages of 7 & 8 that we needed to go exploring so we walked alone to jack n the box from are nonies house we had everybody worried sick. We cut through don dahvee trail to make it more interesting , then finally made are way back hrs later only to get in trouble ,big trouble. Are nonie told us they were searching everywhere for us & that she even called the police & FBI. One of are many adventures i´ll keep with me always .... I´ll forever miss you cousin!
