Laval Joseph Brown Sr.

Laval J. Brown, Sr., born in Charleston, SC and resident of Corona, Queens, NY, passed April 21, 2016 in hospice care in the home of his daughter, Lisa I. Perez. Laval was predeceased by Maria C. Brown, the mother of his four children Laval J. Brown Jr. (deceased), Angela M. Davila, Lisa I. Perez, and Xenia T. Johnson. He treasured his relationship with Maria Camacho his devoted, loving, and care-giving girlfriend of 17 years.

Laval was a loving brother to his sister Janice, caring uncle to James and Jayson, attentive godfather to Timothy, a devoted grandfather to Amanda, Desmond, Jacqueline, Julianna, Alexis, Alicia, Christopher, Deanna, and his youngest grandchild Ethan. He was an adoring great-grandfather to Kailyn.

Laval is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned the decoration of Sharpshooter. As a young man, he enjoyed fishing and football and learned to work as a glazier from his father. He went on to run a local glass shop in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, N.Y. He took pride in his family and was always well known in his neighborhoods as "Mr. Brown". He will be missed by many for his kindness and his humor that spread laughter to all those with whom he came in contact.

Attire: Please dress appropriately however, all black attire is not required. Daddy's favorite color was yellow.
