LaVel Beach Sr. Obituary
Born on May 6,1963 in Gary Indiana, LaVel was the seventh of eight children and shared a special bond with his baby sister, Lenora. Affectionately known as "Poe," LaVel grew up in a close-knit family where his joyful spirit and active nature were evident early on. He enjoyed ping pong, skating, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
LaVel attended Locke Elementary School and graduated from West Side High School, Class of 1981. He later began a career as a sheet metal mechanic at Spirit AeroSystems, where his dedication and hard work were deeply valued.
Outside of work, Poe's favorite pastimes included playing cards, baseball, and shooting pool. His sense of humor, warmth, and love for life left an impression on all who knew him.
LaVel's memory lives on through his loving wife, his daughters Alisha and Anisha Goodwin, his sons LaVel Beach Jr. and Latrell Beach, and a host of cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Lorenzo (Tonya) Beach of Yorkville, IL; Maggie Beach of Hampton, GA; Lance Beach of Wichita, KS; his twin LaVella Beach of Austin, TX; and his youngest sister, Lenora Beach of Merrillville, IN. Poe also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father Lorenzo Beach Sr., mother Irma N. Beach, brother Lamar Beach, and oldest sister Irma Deramus.
A memorial service to celebrate LaVel's life will be held at Jackson Funeral Home in Wichita, KS, on Friday, September 19, 2025. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the life of a man who touched so many with his love and laughter.
LaVel "Poe" Beach will be remembered for his joyful heart, his dedication to family, and his ability to bring people together. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he influenced and in the memories his loved ones will forever hold close.

In reality we are never truly prepared for death when it enters into the mentality of our minds and find it hard to let go of the people we love and or admire. They leave us and we are left with precious memories of their existence. Just pictures and memories of the good times and days of old that brought us joy when they were a constant part of our life. So, therefore we must be thankful for the memories and the good times that we shared and the love that abound in our hearts still. We know that God makes no mistakes and HE is always on time. Therefore let us give God the Glory for the abundant life of Lavel Po´ Beach and take consolation in the promise of Jesus Christ who offers us all eternal life in Him. Beach family may the Lord Jesus Christ keep you all in His blessings and wipe every tear from your weeping eyes.

MY SOUL IS IN A HURRY
I counted my years and discovered that I now have less time left to live than I had lived until now.
I feel like the kid who won a pack of candy; He ate the first few with pleasure, but when he realized there were few left, he began to savor them deeply.
I don't have time for endless meetings where we discuss bylaws, rules, procedures and internal regulations, knowing that nothing will happen.
I no longer have time to put up with absurd people who, despite their chronological age, have not grown up.
My time is short to discuss titles. I want the essential, my soul is in a hurry...
Without many sweets in the package...
I want to live next to human people, very human. Who know how to laugh at their mistakes, who are not vain of their triumphs. People who don't consider themselves elected before their time, people who don't try to escape their responsibilities. I am looking for people who defend human dignity, people who only want to walk on the side of truth and honesty.
The essential is what makes life worth living.
*I want to surround myself with people who know how to touch people's hearts*...
People who have learned from the hard knocks of life to grow up with soft touches in their soul
Yes..., I am in a hurry..., I am in a hurry to live with the intensity that only maturity can give.
I intend not to waste any of the candy I have left... I am sure they will be more exquisite than the ones I have eaten so far.
My goal is to arrive at the end satisfied and at peace with my loved ones and with my conscience.
We have two lives and the second one starts when you realize that you have only one......
