James A. "Jim" MacGillivary age 59 of Maynard passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Born in Cambridge on February 8, 1957 he was the son of the late Hugh A. and Florence (Steele) MacGillivary. Jim graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1975. He married and soon moved to Maynard where he worked for the Town of Maynard for a combined 42 years, 12 years with the Department of Public Works and then 30 years as a proud fire fighter with the Fire Department. Jim always enjoyed working in his yard, camping and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle which brought many happy memories. He was also a long-time member of the Maynard Elks. He is survived by his siblings Allan MacGillivary and wife Mary Jean of Mount Vernon, NH, Dayle MacGillivary and wife Janet, Rhonda Rocheleau, David MacGillivary and wife Jody all of Maynard and Mark Tomyl and wife Lisa of Hudson and the late Karen Lee, John MacGillivary and Alexander MacGillivary. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jim on Friday, March 18 from 4-8 pm in the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Funeral service and burial will be private Arrangements under the care of Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, Maynard.
