Barcheskis, we are saddened by the loss of your father who for a long time was our good and steady neighbor. He clearly touched so many lives in this community and his paternal warmth was evident to us from the day we moved in across the street. We will miss his nearly daily hello waves and the friendly words exchanged on the sidewalk. May you find comfort and strength at this time through the kind words and actions of others. And, may the memories of laughter, good times spent, and lessons taught serve for you as his fatherly embrace for many years to come.

I sat in Mr. Barcheski's American Life classes in the early 70's at Central High. I liked him as a teacher. A few years ago I ran into him at a football game at Grandville High School. I didn't expect him to remember me, but we still visited for a while. I enjoyed our visit, it brought back some good memories. The world has lost a good man.

This man was so much to me and so many others in the community. He was one of my father's cronies. He was my head coach at Central High, class of 74. He grew into a dear friend I'd hang with at the east side Polish clubs. I'd alway buy "coach" a drink and get caught up when I saw him. He will be missed. Prayers to his wonderful family. Larry, Godspeed.

I´m very sorry Larry has left us. His family should know how much he was respected at Little Hall. It is hard to ever replace a "real man" like him who loved his church, country, family and friends.
I´ll miss seeing him at the Hall...

My dad (Cal) was grounds keeper at Houseman Field, so I knew Larry my hole life. Just a great guy to be around. My dad talked highly of him also.
