Lawrence "Juny" Coats Jr.

Funeral services for Larry "Juny" Coats, Jr., 65, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Coats and Bishop James Duirden officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Cleveland City Cemetery. Mr. Coats was born November 14, 1945 in Cleveland, Texas to the late Sarah (Downs) and Lawrence Preston Coats, Sr., and died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Coats had resided in Lufkin for 37 years. He was an Electrical Engineer at Abitibi Paper Mill for more than 30 years. Mr. Coats loved photography, snow skiing and landscaping. He was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Vicki Coats of Lufkin; daughter, Tammy Cain of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Victoria Coats of Fort Worth; stepdaughters, Lora Holt and Emily Holt, both of Lufkin; stepson, Brian Holt and fiancée Chasity Travillion of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jacob Waldron, Kayla Waldron, Chastity Coats, Elijah Coats and Nate Coats; step-grandchildren, Tyler Mosley, Madison McLin and Chase Witcher; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Patsy Coats, Jack and Deanie Coats, all of Cleveland, and Mack and Jerri Coats of Livingston; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, Mr. Coats was preceded in death by his daughter, Alicia Rose Coats; brothers, Gene Coats and Jimmy Coats; and sister, Billie Stanley. Pallbearers will be Jacob Waldron, Elijah Coats, Christian Coats, Randy Coats, Nikki Coats and Johnny Stanley.
