Deya and Jacob: Larry was an integral part of my "inner circle" growing up, and his passing is heartbreaking.

I met Larry and Don when I moved to Middlebury in 1963. Through our college years we spent countless hours playing cards, basketball, ping pong, pool, and doing all the things kids and teenagers do.

We went our separate ways after college, but I reached out to Larry to help with estate planning after my son was born. He provided invaluable guidance and direction, consistent with what I heard at the funeral.

We touched base - too infrequently - over the years. We´d spend about 10% of the time talking about business and the rest talking about family. He was so happy with his lot in life and was particularly proud of Jacob.

I´m happy to hear that you and Larry maintained your very close relationship throughout his life.

I had reconnected with John and Paula a few years back, and Larry and I talked about getting the old crowd back together the next time you were back in the area. I´m sorry we couldn´t make that happen.

His passing creates a void in so many ways.

My deepest sympathy to the Engelman family for the very sad and unexpected loss of Larry. Working for Northwestern Mutual I have worked on many cases with Larry and found him to be such a professional and kind man. Peace be with you all.
