Lawrence Gordon Hayden

Born November 6, 1938 in Augusta, Maine. Larry died on February 11, 2025 after a very painful year.

He graduated from Cony High School in 1956. He joined the US Air force in 1957 for seven years. From the Air Force he worked for a short period of time for Bath Iron Works. He then worked for the US Post Office for 27 years retiring as Postmaster in South Paris Maine in October 1992.

We were married in Augusta Maine in 1976 for 48 good years. We moved to Clearwater Florida in 1996.

He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Jessica Hayden. Larry's first wife Gloria Bennett Hayden passed away on May 5, 1972. He was also predeceased by our son Jeffrey Jon Moulton on December 5, 2024. He was predeceased by his brother William Hayden, his sister Patricia Pelton and his twin sister Sandra Pomerleau.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Marjorie L Hayden, his children Richard Hayden (Gay) of Maryland, Teresa Taylor (Ellsworth) of Maine, Gregory Moulton (Shelly) of Idaho, Diane DeBlois (Joseph) of Maine, Steven Hayden (Sabra) of Maine. He also is survived by several Grand Children and several Great Grand Children. He is survived by his sister Deborah (William) Lowans of Florida and Maine. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Augusta Maine on Thursday July 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Service will start at 2 PM sharp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. After being his wife for 48 years I know he is in a much better place and free of pain. I miss , and love him.

Following the service we will have a get together at the Elks Clubhouse at 397 Civic Center Drive (a very short drive from the cemetery). All are welcome. We would love to get together with you.
