HOUNJET - Lawrence Frank Victor Hounjet (born May 18th, 1924) of Saskatoon, SK, passed away peacefully at City Hospital on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 with his family at his side. Lawrence was born and raised in St. Denis, SK. He married Alice Servetnyk on October 5, 1949. They made their home on a family farm near St. Denis where they raised their seven children. In 1970 they moved to Saskatoon, although Lawrence continued farming until his retirement in 1986. He and Alice filled their retirement years with travel, spending winters with their many friends in Mesa until Alice's passing in 2000. He was an active member, past Grand Knight and past Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus one of his proudest moments was having his family named "Family of the Year ". Due to his physical limitations, Lawrence spent his final years with his children and grandchildren reminiscing and fondly remembering how his life had been blessed. Lawrence was honest, hardworking and a man of strength strength in his faith, his convictions, but especially in his love for his family. His greatest pride was in the strong family bond that he has forever instilled in us all. Lawrence is survived by daughters, Lorraine (Ed) Blazieko, Vivian (Verne) Clancy, both of Saskatoon; sons, Marven (Brenda) of Bellvue WA, Gordon (Shirley), Larry (Dianna) both of Saskatoon, Randall (Karen) of Calgary and Phillip of Saskatoon. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 15 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; his brother, Joseph (Marguerite); his sister, Anna; several sisters-inlaw, brothers-in-law and their extended families. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Alice in February of 2000; his parents, Joseph and Jeanne Hounjet; brothers, Jean and Henri Hounjet; his father-in-law and motherin-law, William and Phyllis Servetnyk; nieces, Michelle and Angele Hounjet; and brother-inlaw, Orest Servetnyk. A special `Thank You' is extended to the Drs. and Staff of City Hospital Intensive Care Unit for the excellent care provided to Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Lung Association or to a children's charity of choice. Vigil for Lawrence will be held on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. The Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon) with Rev. Fr. Denis Phaneuf, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will take place in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK. Arrangements entrusted to James Werezak of Park Funeral Chapel, 244-2103.

Returned from vacation to hear of your lost. We will always remember your Dad for all the hard work he put into having the Hounjet Family Reunion. It was a chance for all of us to meet. He was a man who left us all great memories in one way or another. Our deepest sympathy. Be good to yourselves.
