For many years I kept an aircraft @ the Grant County Airport. Larry´s arrival was a blessing.

Larry was a good, decent, patient man. I thoroughly enjoyed his company snd believe the feeling was mutual. I´m certain he is with the Lord.

Not to long before his passing, I spent about about hour with Larry on his golf cart. I´d sold my aircraft years ago, but for some reason I just decided to stop in and see Larry. We changed a few runway light bulbs and talked about family and flying. As always he asked how my wife was doing (she had beaten breast cancer in 2005, but Larry always asked how she was).

Larry was clearly aging and knew his days were numbered. I left W99 that day doubtful I´d see my friend again. During the hour drive home, I recalled our many times together, shed a few tears, and prayed for Larry to go peacefully. I´m so thankful for that last hour we spent together.

I met Larry in 1966. He was a special person who helped many people. He saved my wife and me in my married life after a question he asked me. That’s another story I will always remember. He said he would help me. He did. For many years I would go to his home and Larry would teach me the life that I have had in my year’s way gone back to that year in 1966.
He taught me to know more than the other person and he did just that. I ended up reporting to three Presidents over the years and it was all due to Larry Stall. I never finished high School. I quit at 14 years old to help my mother and the other kids. We had a family of five, who were poorer than church mice.
When I was 19 years old, I went into the service. I went into the U.S. Navy but I wanted to become someone who could make a difference in my life. When I came out I was married with two small children and that is when I met Larry. Larry taught me everything I needed to have a understanding of business. Larry gave me as my lifelong mentor a college education. How he did so much in his life which is an understatement as his obituary left out many positions and achievements of which it would fill many more pages. Larry and Joan had a wonderful life together. I will always remember Larry and now God has him. He helped so many people in his life and never asked for help in any way.
GOD blessed Larry. All of the many people in his life like me will always remember Larry. God bless you Joan.

Joan, as a child we were always excited when Uncle Larry was coming to visit. He was such a hansome man. We only saw him a handful of times throughout the years but never really knew much about him except he had "lots" of kids and he flew a plane large enough to fly his family with him. I so enjoyed our visit a couple years ago to really get to know him and be able to sit and ask questions and to know more about him and his family. It's so sad we had to wait so long to really "meet" him. Thanks again for your hospitality, Uncle Larry holds a special place in our hearts, as well as you. God be with you and your family in this difficult time. We love you!

Uncle Larry was a very special person. He reminded me so much of my Dad - Floyd - Larry's brother. The had a world of knowledge of planes & flying. There was so much he knew about & could do. I could sit & listen to him for hours. We had so much to talk about & so little time. I wish he had lived closer & had more time to spend together. I know he will be missed by family & friends. He will always have a special place in my heart.

Joan,And family.
I met Larry during my work with placing senior citizens in a part time work position. Larry and I had many many long talks and I respected him . He always would ask me why I was not confident in my skills. He would make me think about life and he told me how much he loved you and his children.
I’m am so sorry for your loss. I think Larry left a wonderful legacy.
God Bless you and your children.

Larry Stahl saved my life and the life of my student. I'm a glider pilot. There was a lot of debate in our club about "stalling an a slip" in a certain type of glider that Larry knew a lot about (sorry to the non-pilots out there). So I brought the question to Larry, I sat in his office for over an hour as he patiently helped me understand the aerodynamic issues at play. He gave me practical advice -- what to do if there is a problem. Fast forward 3 years and I found myself in a bad situation. I could hear Larry's word in my eagers as I struggled to get the glider down safely. Without Larry I would not have survived that situation. What a wonderful and great and generous man he was. A truly special life. Thank you Larry. Thank you.

Larry was one the the smartest guys I ever had the pleasure of knowing.
He ran at 125% with ever thing he did, and helped so many people who enjoyed then sport of Soaring.
A true renaissance man if there ever was one.
I hope St. Peter finds a place for him with clear blue skies and big white cumulus clouds from horizon to horizon.

Grandpa you ment the world to me. I am going to miss our talks and the stories you shared with me. I learned so much from you that I will always treasure it all. I wish I had more time to spend with you. I learned a lot about who I am and where I get some of who I am. You filled in so many puzzle pieces and I can’t thank you enough. I love you and hope my dad is with you. Please hug him for me and have him hug you. You will forever be in my thoughts. I will do my best to help grandma. ❤ I am so proud to be your granddaughter.
