Lawrence Lesure Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 11, 2025.
Lawrence Lesure, 91, passed away on July 2, 2025, in Springfield, Massachusetts at Bay State Medical Center. Born on October 11, 1933, in Stamford, Vermont, Lawrence lived a long life marked by dedication to family, work, and craftsmanship.

He began his education in the local schools of Stamford and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams, Massachusetts. Lawrence went on to build a lasting career with the Berkshire Gas Company at its North Adams facility, where he worked for many years before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment to his community left a meaningful impression on those around him.

Lawrence was a devoted father to four children: Lawrence D. of Hyde Park, Vermont; Steven of Chiefland, Florida; Jeffrey of Bennington, Vermont; and Karen Lesure of Springfield, Massachusetts. He had three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. His family was a source of deep pride throughout his life.

An avid outdoorsman in his younger years, Lawrence enjoyed hunting and fishing with his eight brothers and sons-experiences that became treasured family memories. He was also a skilled woodworker who crafted cabinets and furniture with care and artistry for his home and friends.

Earlier in life, Lawrence was a member of the Stamford Methodist Church before relocating to Rowe, Massachusetts. His faith played a meaningful role in his early community involvement.

He was predeceased by his sisters Bernice Plantier and Helen Shields, as well as his brothers Gordon, Gerald, Floyd, Ronald, Nelson, Charles, and Paul.

At his request, there will be no services.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
